NOTES

We started learning a High on Fire song. Sometimes my teacher identifies music that he could probably play on bass and I could probably play on drums, and then we learn it. (I imagine he does some advanced prep.) He writes a portion of the song out on the whiteboard, we spend the first half of the lesson learning it and getting it up to a reasonable speed, and then we play together (me on drums, him on bass).

The fact that I can sit and learn it in 30 mins and then play it repeatedly with someone for 30 minutes is a testament to my level! It took me a long time to get here. It used to take 6 months just to learn the first 2 minutes of a song and now here I am comfortably serving it so we can jam and learn together.
